Your comment MUST link to your particular blog or web site or include your e-mail address. Otherwise, I won’t be able to get in touch with you if you win! Any entries that do not include
some way of getting in touch will be disqualified.

Deadline: Comments must be received by midnight EST April 6th, 2010.
Odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received.

  3. OMG! This is the coolest book I’ve ever seen. I can’t wait to get my very own. My little sister is pregnant and I want to spoil that baby rotten. My youngest is 20 months and I have altered 1 onesie. It was super fun and suprisingly easy! I would LOVE to win!!

  4. I used to paint on snap suits for friends, but haven’t done any since having my own 2 kids. My 13 month old now wears a size 2T, so I’m hoping to use some of the ideas for t-shirts and make the snap suits for gifts.

  7. The book looks great – not to mention the crafty loot. I have altered a onesie or two in my time. I’ve tried tie dying to cover stains. It didn’t work out too well. I’ve also made a necktie and fish applique for other onesies. It’s fun and the little ones will wear whatever you put on them – so the sky is the limit.

  8. I have never altered a snapsuit; I would like to though. I have an 18 month old and we are planning on having another little one in the future. What an awesome book!


  9. yes, i am the queen of altered onesies! i tie dye them, iron on homemade and store bought appliques and have even cut them off at the waist (bottom) and added a skirt or ruffle or two. whoopee! your book will definitely provide lots more inspiration for all those gifts and grandchildren in my future. thanks cathie! p.s. love “creative juice” – watched it this a.m.

  20. I just had my BFF’s baby shower this last weekend and gave her several altered onesies. She is having a little boy so the tie and bow-tie onesie I made were a big hit. So much fun!!

  26. Both my kids are to big for onesies, but my nephew still wears them, and ive got a few friends all due this spring/summer that I’ve been making bibs,dresses and other things for. This book is so cute, such great ideas!!

  30. SUPER PRIZE! I just altered a onsie for my 8 month old and a tshirt for my 1 1/2 year old for them to wear on easter.. its kind of like your “junior prom” one… I put a bowtie, dress shirt ruffles, and buttons on the little one, and a regular tie applique and dress shirt ruffles on the bigger one. I used red bandana fabric (because I had some scraps to use up) so I call them the “redneck dress shirts”

  36. I have altered a snapsuit. For my daughters baby shower she got alot of plain pink things, and the crafter I am I wanted to spruce them up. I added appliqued fabric…animals, crowns…(I traced the copies from coloring books).. and wah-lah she wasn’t so “plain” anymore.

    Just did a onesie table at a baby shower I threw for some friends. Half of them were totally not appropriate for babies to wear, but everyone had lots of fun making them!

  41. No babies on the horizon, but I once did a baby shower “game” where everyone got a snapsuit and was responsible for decorating it. We then gave them to the mom-to-be at the baby shower and she chose her favorite (who won a prize!). I tie-dyed mine… it didn’t win.

    This looks like an awesome book. I don’t have kids but I have several friends that are having kids – that means baby shower time. I am one of those people that likes to give the creative and fun gift. I did several iron on snap suits a couple weeks ago for a friend with bling cupcakes and aniamls, She loved them.

  74. For my baby shower each person got a white onesie and decorated it with fabric markers and paints. it was wonderful! Not only was it like an extra gift from everyone, but I’m still using them all and I’m on baby #3!

  87. Well, I printed up a bunch of images in order to embellish a onesie…but never actually did it! I have to say, looking at the pictures, I’m inspired to go for it!

    While I am not expecting a baby myself, my cousin is pregnant with twin girls and ready to pop them out any second, and a friend is pregnant with twin boys and currently working hard to keep them in. April is likely going to be a busy birthday month in years to come!

This sounds interesting to me, even tho I’ve never altered a onesie before. I’d love to try my hand at it, and to spread the news to others that it is easy to do! (I’m assuming)

  109. For my baby shower in March 2009, my friend used fabric markers to decorate onsies for my little one. It was cool because they were all different sizes so the baby can still wear some of them now.

    I have altered snapsuits many times. My fav was at a baby shower and we had everyone decorate one for the new mom as a gift. Everyone had a great time doing it and the mom enjoyed getting to keep them as a remembrance item. I also have a new niece on the way in July. My sister and I both love to create and are looking forward to having another little girl to design for.
