We love the recycling and re-making clothes and fabrics into new projects! This skull sweater is made with a thrift shop little girls dress, a sweater from Target and Fabric Mod Podge. Fabric Mod Podge is washable….. so even though I added stitches for extra embellishment, you really don’t need them.
How to VIDEO!
Gather Supplies: Fabric Mod Podge, Sweater, Fabric for Applique, Scissors, Paintbrush, Plastic Bag, Embroidery Floss and Needles.
Our fabric was recycled from a little girls dress that we got at the thrift shop. We used it to make the sweater and the notebook below.
Begin by sliding a plastic bag in between the layers of the sweater.
Cut a skull shape from the fabric.
Cut scraps to serve as the white parts of the eyes, nose and teeth.
Glue the eyes, nose and teeth scraps to the back of the skull and trim around the edges.
Coat the back with Fabric Mod Podge and position onto the back of the sweater.
Smooth with your fingers and allow to dry.
Sew random embroidery and whip stitches around the design.
