3. Dip the detail paintbrush into Wicker White paint, tap off all the paint until it is almost dry. Dry brush the anchor with Wicker White. Paint the edges of the anchor with lined details.

Paint a Mustache Coffee Mug for Dad

diy handmade gifts for father's day coffee mug

Dad’s love coffee (ok well most dad’s love coffee) and dad’s love handmade gifts!    This easy peasy painted mug was painted using a shelf liner stencil and enamel paint.  So even if you are not good at freehand painting you will have success with this project!  Dad will love it and you will giggle when he takes a sip of coffee and sports his mustache. 🙂

What you Need:
Shelf liner paper (sticky back)
Craft knife
Protected work surface
Rubbing alcohol
Coffee mug
FolkArt ® Enamels™ – Burnt Umber, 2 oz.

1. Trace or free hand draw a mustache onto the shelf liner paper. Create a stencil by using a craft knife to cut out just the drawing portion.

2. Wipe the coffee mug with rubbing alcohol to clean it.

3. Position the stencil onto the top center of the mug. Dip the spouncer brush into the burnt umber paint, tap off the excess and tap into the open portion of the stencil. Peel the stencil and allow to dry.

4. Follow the instructions on the bottle for setting the paint. Only drink from the non painted side.
